The A's had their first playoff game tonight. It was a very exciting experience for the kids. The Little Leauge brought out all the bells and whistles for the playoffs. Before the game started every player was introduced by name and lined up on the field. The National Anthem was played over the PA system.
The A's were seeded fifth and played the Mets who had beaten them earlier in the season. Peter started in Left field. This game was a great showcase to demonstrate how much the kids have improved over the season. It was a very well played defensive game with great pitching. The A's pitcher was Tyler who pitched the whole game --- I've never seen that in LL. He pitched so well he didn't exceed his max pitch count even while pitching all 6 innings. Peter made a nice fielding play in LF, getting the ball into 2nd base quickly and knocked in a run with a grounder.
The final score was 3-2! The A's play again on Saturday against another first round winner. Either the Yankees or Dodgers.

The kids played great and were PSYCHED after the game!
Meanwhile, in Barnard at Silver Lake, Austen camped out with the other graduating 6th graders. I joined him for a stormy night after the game was over! Graduation tomorrow for Austen! What a busy week!

Great game, Peter! Congrats! I love the post, Ger. The pictures are great and so is the story! You're a real trooper for being at the game AND at Austen's camp out in the same day!! I love you. HT
